By creating a Vedak account or using the Vedak website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Vedak.

Vedak is a local work marketplace for Sri Lanka. Customers post jobs with a fixed budget; nearby workers submit fixed-price bids to do the job; the customer chooses who to hire. Vedak is the platform that connects both sides — we are not a party to the agreement between a customer and a worker, and we don't employ workers or supervise the work performed.

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Vedak.
• You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
• You're responsible for anything that happens under your account, so keep access to your email and Google account secure.
• One account per person. Fake or duplicate accounts may be removed.

Posting a job is free. You set the title, description, budget, and location. You're responsible for the accuracy of your job listing and for choosing who to hire from the bids you receive.

Submitting a bid costs credits — 2 for small jobs, 5 for medium jobs, and 8 for large jobs. New accounts receive free starter credits; more can be added from the Credits page via office payment or bank deposit, which is reviewed before your balance updates. Credits are consumed when you submit a bid and are non-refundable once used, including if you aren't selected for the job.

Vedak does not process payment for the work itself. Once a customer hires a worker, payment is arranged and made directly between the customer and the worker, exactly as if they'd been introduced in person. Vedak is not responsible for disputes over pricing, payment, or the quality of work performed — we encourage both sides to agree on scope and price clearly before work begins, and to leave an honest review afterward.

Reviews must reflect a genuine completed job on Vedak. Fake, retaliatory, or paid-for reviews are prohibited and may be removed.

The following are not allowed on Vedak, and may result in content removal, account suspension, or reporting to authorities where appropriate:

• Illegal work of any kind, including jobs involving drugs, weapons, or other illegal activities.
• Fraud, scams, or attempting to collect payment without intending to do the work.
• Spam, fake accounts, or manipulating bids, ratings, or reviews.
• Harassment, threats, or unsafe behavior toward another user.
• Requesting payment or sharing contact details before a hire is confirmed, to bypass the platform.

You can report a job or worker directly from its page. Our team reviews reports and can remove listings or suspend accounts that violate these terms.

We may remove content or suspend an account that violates these terms. You can delete your own account at any time — see Data Deletion.

Vedak is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of jobs posted or work performed by workers found through the platform — you're responsible for exercising your own judgment when hiring or accepting work. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vedak isn't liable for disputes, losses, or damages arising from interactions between customers and workers.

We may update these terms as Vedak grows. Continuing to use Vedak after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
